Foyer is a hospitality-centric cafe opening in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood. The cafe is connected to (and launched in conjunction with) Beauty Shoppe, a network of neighborhood-based coworking spaces originating in Pittsburgh.
Our first-ever cafe, Foyer is inspired by our desire to bring beautiful, social, and communal spaces — previously limited to Beauty Shoppe membership — to the general public. Put simply, we want every patron who walks through the door to feel welcomed by our wholehearted service and thoughtful, affordable menu.
We aspire to be an environmentally sustainable cafe. We encourage for-here sales with a lovely setting and beautifully presented drinks and snacks. We compost all our spent coffee and tea through Cleveland’s beloved Rust Belt Riders. We use Aardvark paper straws, instead of plastic. We limit single-use plastics within the cafe. And finally, we aim to throw away less than one bag of garbage per week. We believe that everyone has an obligation to make small, repeatable strides in lessening our environmental impact.

How did Foyer get its name?
To arrive at the name Foyer, we worked backwards: we knew how we wanted people to feel when they are in the cafe — comfortable and at ease, like they are at the home of a good friend. Since most Beauty Shoppe members will enter through the cafe, we wanted to ensure that the cafe was a “warm welcome” to their day. If you think about a foyer in a home, it’s where first impressions are formed, where host meets guest, where outside transitions to inside. As the front door (so to speak) of our coworking space, the name Foyer struck a chord.
How do you pronounce “Foyer?”
We refer to the shop FOY-er (rhyming with “employer”). Lots of folks say FOY-yay, which is totally acceptable, but we wanted to keep it simple and easy.
Is Foyer on Social Media?
Yes; you can find us on Instagram via @foyerohiocity.
What is coworking & what is Beauty Shoppe?
Coworking describes any situation where two or more people are working in the same place together, but for different companies. Beauty Shoppe is a 24/7 network of neighborhood coworking and office spaces, designed for individuals, small businesses, and enterprise-level corporations.

Foyer is designed, created, and run by the team at Beauty Shoppe.
What kind of food and drinks does Foyer serve?
We have a full selection of coffee and espresso beverages, loose-leaf teas, pastries, sandwiches, snacks, and bottled beverages.
What is Japanese Iced Coffee?
Glad you asked — we love this technique! Put simply, it’s double-strength hot coffee brewed directly over ice, chilling instantly and locking in all the flavors we love. Brewing coffee with hot water quickly dissolves the desired flavors and aromatics in ground coffee. The double-strength coffee cools instantly as it contacts the ice, this rapid cooling locks in the flavors and volatile aromatics. The result: cold coffee with a full range of flavors that takes no more time to brew than hot coffee.

No need to book at Foyer – we’re a casual cafe, and typically have seats available at all times.
Does Foyer have WiFi?
Yes; we have complimentary WiFi for our guests.

What ways does Foyer practice sustainability?
